Marc Cherry has announced plans for season two of the nighttime soap opera, Devious Maids!

The press release for season two read “Following last season’s revelation of Flora’s murderer, Rosie’s shocking arrest by immigration agents, the demise of Valentina and Zoila’s relationship and Carmen’s fake engagement, season two promises to deliver even more excitement. Beverly Hills is hit by a wave of criminal activity that leaves its residents in a vulnerable situation. Meanwhile, Marisol engages in a new romance but quickly discovers there is more than meets the eye to her new lover. Zoila’s need to control everything starts to take a toll on her personal life, especially with Valentina, who is now working for a surprising new employer. Rosie’s immigration status is in flux, while Carmen embraces her life in the limelight as the fiancée to a pop star.”

The plans include EP Eva Longoria will direct the season two opener and she will make an appearance on the series!

Cherry gave some insight as to what to expect “You will see some new faces and say goodbye to some other faces” in the new season. The cast of Ana Ortiz, Dania Ramirez, Judy Reyes and Susan Lucci admitted they were told by real-life maids that Devious Maids doesn’t quite do justice to the actual stories from rich and famous homes. “Whatever we can think of, the truth is stranger than fiction, and it gave us a lot of confidence going forward,” Cherry commented.

Devious Maids will return on April 20th at 10PM on Lifetime!
