Devin Hall captures second athlete of the week

Each week during the high school sports season the Eastern Maine High School Sports Examiner and the Eastern Maine Sports Blog will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations to Marc @ easternmainesportsblog@yahoo.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination.

Male

Devin Hall- Calais- Basketball- Scored 31 points in 78-47 victory over Narraguagus. Scored 19 points in 92-38 win over Shead. Scored 10 points in 73-65 loss to Washington Academy. Hall is the leading scorer for a Blue Devils team that has a 10-2 record. Hall also captured athlete of the week honors four weeks ago when he averaged 26 points in leading Calais to victories over Washington Academy and Woodland.

Runner up

Josh Gormley- Waterville- Basketball- Recorded 25 points, eight steals, seven assists and six rebounds in 76-55 victory over Gardiner.

Garet Beal- Jonesport-Beals- Basketball- Scored 35 points in 74-43 victory over Narraguagus,

Kyle Bouchard- Houlton- Basketball- Scored 27 points in 60-37 win over Stearns. Scored 19 points in 89-30 victory over Schenck.

Austin Ireland- Winslow- Basketball- Scored 19 points and pulled down 14 rebounds in 66-52 victory over Morse.

Spencer Valley- Brewer- Hockey- Recorded a hat trick in 7-1 victory over Old Town.

Gabe Valley- Brewer- Hockey- Recorded a hat trick in 7-1 victory over Old Town.

Dayne Savage- Caribou- Basketabll- Scored 24 points in 71-55 victory over Fort Kent.

Seth Pearson- Bangor Christian- Basketball- Scored 21 points and had six assists in 60-54 win over Searsport. Scored 10 points in 56-54 victory over PCHS.

Kaleb Smith- Foxcroft- Basketball- Scored 30 points including hitting five 3-pointers in 69-55 victory over Ellsworth.
