Damon Severson was one of 25 players invited to Canada's National Junior Team Selection Camp which is set to begin on December 12. Of the 25 invited, 22 will make the final cut for the 2014 IIHF World Junior Championship to take place in Sweden later this month.
Severson was drafted 60th overall by the New Jersey Devils in 2012 and currently plays for the Kelowna Rockets of the WHL. In 22 games with the Rockets this season, Severson has six goals and 15 assists.
Canada will be looking to rebound this winter after losing in the bronze medal game to Russia in the 2012 World Junior Championship last January.
The games are set to begin on December 26, 2013 in Malmo, Sweden at the Malmo Arena. The 13,700-seat venue will be the main stage for the tournament while the Malmo Isstadion will be the secondary rink. The gold medal game will be playing on January 5, 2014.
