Devils activate Martin Brodeur off injured reserve (Photos)

The New Jersey Devils activated goaltender Martin Brodeur off the injured reserve list today. Although he didn't play in tonight's game against the New York Rangers, he was on the bench for the first time in a month backing up Johan Hedberg. The Devil's ended up losing 3-2.

Prior to hurting his back at the end of February, Brodeur was having a pretty good season. He had an 8-2-3 record in 13 games played with a 2.27 goals against average, .911 save percentage, and one shutout. Considering Hedberg's stats are significantly worse (5-8-3 record, 2.71 GAA, .888 save percentage), fantasy owners should expect Brodeur to be back between the pipes sooner rather than later.

Some fantasy owners became impatient and dropped Brodeur over the last month. He is currently owned in only 86% of Yahoo! fantasy leagues. If Brodeur happens to be available in your league, scoop him up now. That could be the type of acquisition that wins you a championship.
