Deveroes moved back

For the first time in recent memory, the Deveroes Summer League won't be starting on Father's Day.

The 25th season of the Deveroes Summer League will start June 27 at Woodward High School, with the championship game scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 7.

Why? A scheduling snafu with the NCAA honchos at mission headquarters in Indianapolis. Seems some paperwork took longer than usual to process.

There will be three games played on Wednesday evenings, and five each on Saturday and Sundays.

The league, as always, will feature many of the area’s top college players, college recruits and international league players. So look forward to seeing those in-season rivalries involving the Bearcats, Musketeers, RedHawks and more to continue right on through the blazing summer.

Per NCAA rules, admission to the games is free. However, donations are welcome.

CincySportsZone is planning to provide the most in-depth coverage of the summer league.
