Developer posts first look at ‘Wasteland 2’

Development director Chris Keenan has unveiled a first look at the gameplay for “Wasteland 2” on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013 on InXile’s Vimeo page. InXile launched a Kickstarter campaign back in March of 2012, which was met with overwhelming success, earning $2,933,252 when the goal was to raise $900,000.

The video takes gamers on a tour of the Agricultural Center, showing off how the game’s skills and combat system works. Keenan also shows off how the user interface in the game is completely customizable. The player can drag any part of the interface to a different position and rotate the orientation of some parts.

“Wasteland 2” is a sequel to the incredibly popular Wasteland, an RPG released in 1988. The first “Wasteland” was the post-apocalyptic predecessor to the “Fallout” Series. The video clearly shows that the style of the game is very much in line with the “Fallout” series, showcasing much of the same humor that is present in the “Fallout” games.
