Hey, remember the Detroit Pistons? They used to play basketball. The Pistons have been off since Saturday, and this big break came after they managed to win a couple of games. Now, that wave of goodwill shall no longer be ridden. Also, there wasn't really any goodwill to begin with, what with all the dumb losses. Detroit is back in action tonight against the Jazz, a game they should, SHOULD, win. Then, they have four games in the next week. They will cross the halfway point of the season. Can they add another win or two to the ledger? We can only hope.

First, tomorrow the Pistons visit the Wizards. Washington has found their footing, while the Pistons have lost theirs. This is also a road game on the second night of a back-to-back. I can't see Detroit winning this one. I mean, I can see it, but only as a beautiful, fevered dream. On Monday the Pistons host the Clippers. Los Angeles doesn't have Chris Paul at the moment, which is very helpful, but probably not helpful enough. I expect another loss here.

Wednesday, Detroit is in Milwaukee. They have to win this game. They can't lose to the Bucks. They shouldn't lose to the Bucks, even on the road. I am calling for a win. Then, lastly, on Friday, Detroit is at home against New Orleans. the Pelicans are also dealing with injury issues. At home, I think the Pistons take this one.

I'm hoping for at least a 2-2 week, and 3-2 with a win over the Jazz. That... will have to do. Eventually things need to get settled. Zach Lowe wrote a very good article recently about Detroit's struggles. The issues are clear. Can they fix them? And will they start now?
