Detroit Pistons' week ahead

The Pistons have been off for a bit of a while, what will All-Star Weekend and all, but they, as well as every other team, will be getting back in action later this week. Speaking of All-Star Weekend, a couple of Pistons were there. Andre Drummond showed up, even though he couldn't play in the Rising Stars Challenge. Brandon Knight did play in that game, and ended up involved in the part of that contest that received the most attention. He started going essentially one-on-one with Kyrie Irving, who just happens to be one of the best players in the league, and one of the best dribblers out there. It started when Irving crossed over Knight quite impressively, and Knight fell over while trying to block the shot, which was good. Knight did take it to Irving a couple of times, but Irving got the better of this matchup. Knight was also in the Skills Challenge. He did well, but did not make it to the finals. So, there's that.

Detroit won three out of four before the All-Star break, including a win over San Antonio and Milwaukee. They are currently 21-33, and they have three games this upcoming week. First, on Tuesday they host Memphis. This is, of course, the return of Tayshaun Prince to the Palace. It will be a tough game for Detroit, and without Drummond I don't know if they can matchup with the Grizzlies and their big men. This is probably a loss.

Then, on Wednesday, they travel to Charlotte. Playing the second night of a back-to-back, after traveling too, definitely hurts, but the Bobcats are truly awful. They are the worst team in the league once again. This should absolutely be a win. Lastly, on Friday they have to visit Indiana to take on the Pacers. The Pacers are a tough team, and they may be getting Danny Granger back soon. If he is still a Pacer by Friday, that is. The trade deadline is this Thursday. Regardless, this is a likely loss for the Pistons, and it will also likely be a very low scoring game. Indiana is great at defense.

Detroit still has an outside playoff shot, but they have a couple tough games after this break is over. They should be able to beat the Bobcats at least.
