Detroit Pistons' week ahead

The Detroit Pistons are through the looking glass, or at least past the halfway mark of their season, with a game against the Miami Heat tonight down in Florida. Which is to say, a loss. However, they have quite a few games next week to try and emerge victorious. The Pistons play four games next week. Here's a look at their matchups.

First, on Sunday the Pistons remain down in the Sunshine State to take on the Orlando Magic. The Pistons beat them soundly this week, but that was at home. This will be a bit tougher, but the Pistons remain the better team, and I think I shall take them to win this game. It's a close one, though. Then, on Tuesday, Detroit is back at home to take on the Bucks. If you think the Pistons are contending for a playoff spot, Milwaukee is the team to focus on. The Bucks are probably just a bit better, and they have the bigs to match up with Detroit, and better guards too. I want to see Andre Drummond go up against Larry Sanders. Will the world explode? Maybe. Anyway, I take Detroit to eke this one out too.

On Wednesday, the Pistons have to visit the Pacers. This should be an ugly game. Indiana is great at defense, but they win through a stifling, tedious fashion of basketball. The fact Detroit has to travel and then play the second game of a back-to-back does not bode well. This will be a loss. Lastly, on Friday, the Pistons get to host Cleveland. Kyrie Irving is an amazing player, but beyond him the Cavs are awful. At home, Detroit should definitely win.

This could be a good week for Detroit. I think they will go 3-1, although 2-2 wouldn't surprise me, and I could see 1-3 admittedly, but I don't expect it. A nice 3-1 week, with a win over the Bucks, could be big for "playoff hopes." Maybe it would be enough to get me to remove those quotation marks. We shall see.
