The Detroit People Mover saw an impressive surge in ridership during the 2010 North American International Auto Show last month. According to Dennis R. Green, Marketing Manager, promoting the service during the event certainly paid off!
“We saw a strong 21 percent increase from 2009’s total,” he says. “The trains ran flawlessly during the two week event, carrying nearly 222,000 people.”
Green said the Detroit People Mover recently added comprehensive three month events posters and flyers at each of the stations which help residents and visitors plan ahead for coming events. They also aired commercials on local stations during the event.
