A 23-year-old Detroit man was shot and wounded as he was being robbed Friday evening by four young men in the parking lot of a popular Southfield eatery. Police caught up with the four men and arrested them.
The criminal episode occurred outside a TGF Fridays on Evergreen just south of 11 Mile Road. The robbery took place about 5:40 p.m. when the restaurant was crowded.
The victim was set upon and robbed of several items. At some point he was shot in the leg.
The man was taken to an area hospital where he is in stable condition.
The restaurant is right across the street from the police station so officers arrived quickly.
They got a good description of the getaway car and soon found it. They arrested the men inside,
Two of the suspects were from Detroit and the other two from Ohio. Three were teenagers.
Police found the stolen property but were unable to locate the gun.
