Detroit, MI - Somone is responsible for a horrific, torturous crime. On Halloween, a dog was set on fire. Was this someone's demented idea of a Halloween prank? If so, what happened to the days of innocent house eggings, or toilet paper in a tree?
Who in their right mind could knowingly and purposefully inflict such horror on another living creature? Lady, a Pitbull mix, was doused with gasoline and lit on fire - her small body engulfed with flames.
Her frantic barking led her owner, and neighbors to her that night. Mistakenly, the owners believed that they could treat the dog's injuries at home. But the severity of her burns made her condition continue to worsen as the days went by.
Almost a full week after the burning, her owners contacted the Michigan Humane Society and surrendered her. Now, a search is underway for the person or persons responsible for this unbelievable act of cruelty.
A $1000 reward is currently offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for Lady's injuries. Someone saw something - someone knows something. The incident occurred in the 15700th block of Dexter near Puritan in Detroit.

Lady, the innocent victim in this horrible act of cruelty, is in bad shape. The severely burned dog is currently being cared for at the Detroit Center for Animal Care. Her body has been ravaged, her injuries are severe - her prognosis is uncertain.

I hope Lady pulls through. Poor girl. I hope they find the person(s) that did this to her and that they put 'em away for a very long time! I also hope she does not go back to the owner who left her alone outside! They should be fined for animal cruelty.
My heart breaks for this baby...I know God is holding her in His care and loves her very much...The devilish act of such heinous cruelty should not be just a slap on the hand...we need stiffer laws. People , just to let you know , Detriot is the armpit of the nation , idiots that live there actually lite numerous houses on fire every Halloween as a ritual , I'm not kidding. I have a friend that was shot there while responding in his ambulance to a medical call for help , they are savages with a capital S. Super stupid people / thugs , that think it is kool to inflict pain on other people or animals , I feel once they are caught , they should have their welfare benefits taken away , kicked out of their section 8 housing and made to get off their Jerry Springer asses and do something constructive like going to Work. Also the ex-owner should be made to take and pass a common sense test before they are allowed to breed or have another animal.

Unlike many others I don't wish any harm on these monsters. They will pay for what they have done when they have to face our God and explain (heheheheh), if they can, the why and wherefore of their actions. I do however pray, hope and wish that the guilt for doing this horrendous act stays alive and very well in their soul(s) for the rest of their days. May the very last thought they have, on their deathbed, be to remember the innocent dog that they got such a thrill about burning.

First the owners are too stupid to have a dog. After a week, come on. You people have no common sense. The dog should have seen a vet immediately or brought to the Humane Society ASAP. Was the dog chained like most pitts are on a short chain. the owners should be fined and made to pay for the vet bills. Secondly if they find the bastards that did this to an animal then it's the automatic death penality. No trial, no jury----just death, or better yet douse them and set them on fire, like they did the dog.

Poor Lady, I will pray that you and all your painful scars heal. I will pray that you are begifted a loving, forever, safe home so that you never have to endure such cruelty ever again sweet baby.
I hope the criminals who could inflict this horrible pain upon God's precious and innocent creature gets life behind bars or death.
