January is already coming to a close. By now, those resolutions made at the start of the year are a distant memory. Don't give up on those dreams of being healthier, being more active, or losing weight. The time to seize these goals is now, and by understand what foods may be causing set backs, and what foods could help the body rid toxins that may be holding it back from attaining these goals.
The problem many people have over the course of their lives with weight gain and loss is in this desire to quickly fix the problem with dieting, then go back to eating junk after hitting the target weight. To reach and sustain the desired weight, and health, dieting cannot be viewed as a temporary fix. It is a lifestyle change.
There are also foods out there being consumed all the time that do not have proper nutrional value, and they have addictive additives to them which makes people crave them. Yes, heredity and age will play a factor in how one looks and feels, but a majority of the problems people are having now can be associated with what food they eat and how active they are daily.
Processed foods, when broken down have little to no nutritional value, and are full of addictive ingredients which make people continue to over eat them. what people are getting out of processed foods is not nutrition, but these additives that are mostly preservatives to extend the shelf life of foods which extends the time the additives sit in the body.
food addictions are getting out of hand because people don't realize they are dependant on these "drugs" essentially. After a diet or clense period, people go back to these foods because they crave them.
Realize that these are designed to make the body crave them, and get out of the mentality that this is what real food should taste like. Real foods have a variety of flavors that, when regularly consumed, make these processed foods seem bland since the main ingredients in most are just an assortment of meat, cheese and some sort of bread.
Detox diets and clenses have also been viewed and used as quick fix diets. This is an improper viewing of these diets because they can be used in helpful ways.
A detox diet will help the body remove toxins left over from foods, or exposure to unnatural substances people are exposed every day living in cities, or chemicals used at work or in the home.
Drinking plenty of water, and only eating raw foods full of water, fiber, and other micronutrients is the healthiest way to detox. The master clense does not provide nutrents, it is a quick way to drop weight. Sticking to raw organic foods for 2 weeks can improve overall health and make a person evenfeel younger. Someone who feels tired all the time will have new energy. It will make them want to keep this new feeling going because it feels good to treat the body right.
It can potentially reverse health problems that were not previously known to be caused by food. Following a detox with an elimination diet could help someone who has felt tired all the time before a detox realize if they have food allergies by slowly incorporating dairy, wheat, soy and other foods that cause allergies. When one doesn't settle right, it can be felt easier. Since Detoxing is a shock to the body that may have these health problems or many be extremely dependant on substances (like soda pop,) it may be wise to consult a doctor before starting a detox.
Following a detox diet, some people realize that this is just the right way to eat. Sticking to whole foods, the way they were grown or raised without these manufactured chemical additives, is the best way to keep toxin build up from ruining the body. It provides an energy boost for those who are tired all the time which allows people to be more active and alert. Overall, A detox diet makes people feel and look better all around.
