Dethklok gets a encore

cover to the first Dethalbum

Imaginary metal band Dethklok will return to Adult Swim on November 8, to kick off their third season, but now they will have a whole half hour to dish out their unique brand of metal. The series which was created by Brendon Small and Tommy Blacha and made its debut on August 4, 2006 started out with 15 minute episodes like most of the Adult Swim line up, but due to an increase in popularity and a chance to tell more brutal stories, Cartoon Network okayed the show to double its length. The show has been able to score some serious credibility in the metal community by the frequent guest stars from the genre. Mike Patton, James Hetfield, Kirk Hammet, Angela Gossow, George "Corpsegrinder" Fisher, and King Diamond to name a few, have all lent their voices to the show, and I'm sure you can expect more metal superstars to show up in the third season as well. The fictional band themselves have been keeping busy in the season break. You can expect a new album, 'The Dethalbum II', to be released on September 29, and you can catch the band on their second tour, yes you read that right, with Mastodon on a seven week gig kicking off on October 2.
