Christopher and Sophie Paul are the biggest fans of Aiello’s Italian Deli in Phoenix. So much so, that they are going to extraordinary measures to try to get Guy Fieri, the star of Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives, to make a trip out to Phoenix to enjoy the food. At a recent Super Bowl party, where Aiello’s food was enjoyed by all, guests were given the following letter upon leaving the party:
"Hi Friends,
If you enjoyed the food from Aiello's, then please email Guy Fieri, the star of Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives at: (storyideas@tripledinfo.com). Tell Guy about the great food so he can feature the Aiello's on his show. We bet it's the best Italian food you've ever had. In your email, be sure to use lots of descriptive words. For example, words like delectable, delicious, savory, mouth watering, and jaw dropping goodness pack a lot of punch. Thank you for your help, and thanks for coming to our Super Fantastic Super Bowl Party!!!!
Chris and Sophie"
Christopher and Sophie went on to email Mr. Fieri the following letters:
“Dear Mr. Fieri,
My name is Christopher Paul, and I am eleven years old. I am a huge fan of your show “Diners, Drive-ins and Dives.” I have watched almost all of them this past year. I would like to recommend a restaurant for you to visit. It is Aiello's East Coast Italian Salumeria, located in Phoenix, Arizona. Aiello's serves the best Italian food in the state. Everything they make is excellent and cooked to perfection, but my personal favorite is their spaghetti and meatballs. Chef Joe's meatballs are huge. They are the size of baseballs! The first thing you notice about them, is their mouth watering aroma. Then, when you stick your fork into the meatball, you can see the juices run out, and with your first delectable bite, you're hooked. The flavors dance in your mouth and make you want more! The spaghetti is is cooked just right and the tomato sauce is bursting with flavor, too. I definitely think you should give it a try.
Once, on your show, I saw you tell a little old lady that she made really fantastic meatballs, and that you knew what you were talking about because you are a, “meatball aficionado.” If that is the case, then you will for sure want to try the meatballs at Aiello's. I promise you won’t be disappointed. So, come to Phoenix and do your show with Chef Joe. Order the meatballs and you will be in meatball heaven.
Sincerely,
Christopher Paul
Dear Mr. Fieri,
My name is Sophie, I'm ten years old, and I'm a big fan of your show. I think you should know, you are totally missing out on the best Italian food ever. Even though you have been to Phoenix, you haven't been to Aiello's East Coast Italian Salumeria. Everything they make is awesome. My favorite dish is their tortolloni alla panna. It is spot on! It is made with cheese tortolloni covered in a delicious creamy sauce with peas and prosciutto. The flavor is so good that it will make you want to lick the plate. I also love their rigatoni bolognese. It is super delicious, too. The meat sauce is the best I have ever had. It is rich, meaty, and full of flavor. My dad's favorite is the chicken parmigiana. He says it’s the best he's ever had. My mom loves the lasagna. She orders it so often that Chef Joe calls her, “The Lasagna Lady.” My brother, Chris, is obsessed with their spaghetti and meatballs. On our vacation, he went on a meatball testing quest. For six days in a row, everywhere we went for lunch and dinner he ordered spaghetti and meatballs. And guess what, none of them were as good as Joe's!
Another great thing about Aiello's is the friendly service. Chef Joe and his wife Myrah treat you like family, and they are always happy to see you. They stop by your table to chit-chat and make you feel at home.
So, the next time you do your show in Phoenix, be sure to stop in at Aiello's and tell them Sophie sent you. If you would like to know more about Aiello's or if I can help you in any way, please call me.
Sincerely,
Sophie Paul"
