A powerful and complicated storm passing across Indiana and Ohio will bring a variety of wintry weather to Michigan. Travel conditions across the state will deteriorate Saturday afternoon into Sunday. The Grand Rapids National Weather Service has Winter Weather Advisory for freezing rain and sleet for these counties: Montcalm, Gratiot, Ottawa, Kent, Ionia, Clinton, Allegan, Barry, Van Buren and Kalamazoo. The advisory is in effect from 4 PM Saturday until Noon on Sunday. Ice accumulations of one quarter of an inch are possible with an additional 1-2 inches is sleet and snow. The northern counties of Mason, Lake, Osceola, Oceana, Newaygo, Mecosta, Isabella and Muskegon will have to contend with heavy snow so a Winter Weather Advisory for the snow is in effect from 7 PM Saturday until 7 PM Sunday. Total snowfall accumulations of 4-7 inches are possible. Finally an Ice Storm Warning for the remaining counties in in effect from 1 PM Saturday until 7 AM Sunday.
With the heavy accumulations of ice on the trees and power lines, some power outages are possible.
