They stated that his wife last saw him at 10:45 p.m on Sunday, Aug. 11, 2014. She then left for work Monday morning believing Williams to still be alive.

Around 11:45 a.m his assistant discovered his body seated in a chair with a belt wrapped around his neck and wedged into a closet door.

Police arrived around 12 p.m to find Robin Williams unresponsive with rigor mortis already setting in.

He was also found with slit wrists and a knife in his pocket with possible blood on it (it's being tested).

Preliminary findings are calling this a suicide by hanging.

Robin Williams had a great ride through fame from standup comic to dramatic actor.

One of only two actors excepted to the Houseman acting wing of Julliard (the other was actor Christopher Reeves, best known for Superman.) Williams started his career landing a great gig on The Richard Prior Show. He really hit it big when he landed the main role as an alien in the ABC sitcom Mork and Mindy.

Movies like Night At The Museum, Aladdin, and Jumanji allowed him to have a permanent imprint in the minds of children everywhere while films like Patch Adams, Dead Poets Society, and Goodwill Hunting proved how well he could stretch his acting chops.

Then films like Mrs. Doubtfire made him a beloved name all over the world.

During his lifetime as an actor has taken home five Golden Globe awards, three People's Choice awards, to Screen Actors Guild awards, two TV Land awards, two Grammy awards, a Kids Choice award, an MTV movie award, and an Academy Award.

Robin Williams leaves behind three children and wife Susan Schneider(graphic designer).
