On Saturday February 11th, Alberto Del Rio made his return to the WWE wrestling ring at a live event in San Francisco, California. He was booked in a match against the 2012 Royal Rumble winner Sheamus. According to a Sunday February 12th report by WrestlingInc.com, Del Rio came out and told the crowd that he would have won the 2012 Royal Rumble if he were in it. Del Rio missed this year's Rumble due to a torn groin which he suffered in mid December.
Del Rio continued his heel promo by saying that he wanted to fight Sheamus to prove that he is better than him. Sheamus comes out and happy to oblige Del Rio in a fight. However, Alberto changes his mind and says that he's not cleared to wrestle and will challenge Sheamus to an arm wrestling match instead. During this war of words, Ricardo Rodriguez tried to attack Sheamus but ate a Brogue kick instead.

Del Rio has been medically cleared to wrestle, but the WWE is using his injury as part of the storyline. There's a good chance that they continue this angle on WWE TV over the next few weeks. Currently, Sheamus is waiting until after the Elimination Chamber PPV on Sunday February 19th to decide who he will challenge at WrestleMania 28 for a world title.
