Details of Artie Lange's suicide attempt revealed

Artie Lange weighs in

RadarOnline has received additional information about what is now being refered to as a suicide attempt by Howard Stern's sidekick, Artie Lange.

Local police say Lange's mother made a 911 call at 9:36 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 2 after finding the comedian bleeding on the floor of his Hoboken apartment in New Jersey.  Paramedics found Lange unconscious with nine “self-inflicted stab wounds,” according to Lt. Det. Mark Competello, made with a 13-inch Wolfgang Puck kitchen knife.

“We all have our demons,” Stern said on his radio program this week. “Artie has given this show tremendous moments of great comedy. He is a good man. Don’t forget how great he is.” According to Rolling Stone, Stern reportedly hasn’t spoken to Lange in over a month, when Lange suddenly stopped appearing on the morning program
