Indie rock auteurs TV on the Radio have finally released more details about their upcoming album, Seeds. Pitchfork has reported that the new album will be out on November 18 via new record label Harvest Records. Seeds was produced by guitarist David Sitek, who has produced every TV on the Radio album since their inception. The album art is attached, and they have also shared a new new-wave track from Seeds called "Happy Idiot".
Seeds is the first band album after the death of bassist/producer Gerard Smith, who lost his battle to lung cancer in April 2011. Since then, members have gone off to do solo projects and collaborations under different monikers and returned to work with one another in November 2013. Out of those rehearsals came "Mercy" and "Million Miles", and whole those cuts didn't make it to Seeds, the fact that they didn't include those songs on the album is a reassuring sign that they have a lot left to say in the current music scene (three years doesn't seem like a long time, but in the music world, those years might as well be a different era. Bon Iver, fun., Carly Rae Jepsen were all 2011).
It is a welcome sight to have a new album by a band that has much more to give. The tracklist and upcoming tour dates are below.
