German thrash originators Destruction are heading back to Texas in support of their latest release, Spiritual Genocide. The show was originally slated to be at Infest, but now that the venue is (predictably) closed, the Dirty Dog will host the Teutonic trio on Tuesday, March 25.
Long-running bands like Destruction usually have fan bases divided by old and new era, which means a lot of old-guard guys waiting to hear Infernal Overkill material while glaring at the over-excited kids in cargo shorts and flipped-brim "Suicidal" hats. The good news is that Destruction puts on a great show that spans all their best-known songs, so there will be something for fans of every era, unless of course you got into the band on The Least Successful Human Cannonball.
Direct support comes from Brazilian death fiends Krisiun, who always put on a high-energy live show that will remind everyone why people used to make such a big deal of South American death metal, though thankfully it's making a comeback.
The worst-case scenario for this outing is that you'll have a good time, well after the SXSW hipster scum have relinquished the city to us again (aside from all the hipsters who actually live here). It's a great way to put that ugliness behind us in the name of a thrashing good time!
