Destiny’s Child will perform at the Super Bowl XLVII halftime show, according to a Hollywoodlife.com report on Feb. 2.
Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams will reunite on stage, a source close to the situation has confirmed to the website.
Speculation of a reunion has been circulating for weeks, but group member Michelle Williams shot down the rumors in an interview with WRUG Media, on Jan. 28. The singer told the interviewer, “I'm going to be in the musical “Fela!" She continued, "I hate to disappoint the people and tell them that it's not true."
The website for "Fela!" mentioned that there were two shows on Super Bowl Sunday, but Williams was not performing on that day.
Soon after Williams' statement, NFL cheerleader Courtney Labat – who will be performing with Beyoncé -seemingly confirmed the trio would be performing when she was asked if rehearsals with Kelly and Michelle were going well. “Yeah, they’ve been awesome. We were actually able to see the show yesterday,” she said.
Meanwhile, there have been sightings of Michelle and Kelly in New Orleans this week. A source tells Hollywoodlife.com, exclusively, “It’s true. Destiny’s Child will be performing together during the Super Bowl halftime show.”
The Super Bowl XLVII airs on Feb. 3 on CBS.
