Destiny’s Child is together again—or were they ever apart? At least for the moment, until the big Super Bowl XLVII halftime show, Beyonce, Michelle Williams, and Kelly Rowland will pull their act back together and perform live on the stage together Feb.3. They even have a new song – “Nuclear,” reports MSN on Friday, Jan. 11.
The lovely ladies are bringing out a new compilation album called “Love Songs, which will bring back the best romantic tracks the group recorded in their heyday, between 1998-2004. Sounds like ancient history, but love songs have great lasting power. The new track – also available as a single, brings the whole collection up to speed.
There is some controversy about whether or not the trio ever officially broke up. Fans will remember that in 2005 they announced a break, not a breakup. Then Beyonce became a smash on her own, and history moved on. But, amazingly, the three have stayed friends and sisters through it all. Kelly reportedly gave a jewel-encrusted bathtub to baby Blue Ivy. What are friends for?
Steps back are unusual in the entertainment world – at least, successful ones are. But the Super Bowl show has become a bit too cautious in recent years, and three gorgeous women can’t hurt. Especially when they sing so well. Destiny’s Child will no doubt be performing hits from their previous album, “Destiny Fulfilled.” The name does have a final ring to it, but times – and circumstances – change.
