The trio has teased fans ever since rumors of a possible reunion started circulating. The group’s on-again-off-again performance was recently dismissed as a rumor by bandmate Michelle Williams, according to a Jan. 31 New York Daily News report. Williams reportedly told WRUG radio that she would be unavailable for a possible reunion. “I’m gonna be in the musical ‘Fela!’ I hate to disappoint the people and tell them that it’s not true.” But will she?
After some super sleuthing, there are reports that according to the Broadway show’s website, Williams may be available to perform. “Singer Michelle Williams (Destiny’s Child, The Color Purple) is joining the cast for the show’s first stop here at the Shakespeare Theatre Company! ... PLEASE NOTE: Michelle Williams will not be appearing January 31st – 3rd,” reports MTV.
Not clearing up the rumors was Beyonce at her Super Bowl press conference in New Orleans where she stunned in a white leather, open back Olcay Gulsen mini, and delivered an equally stunning rendition of the National Anthem.
According to USA TODAY, the singer told the crowd she was looking forward to her half-time performance and promised she would be singing live. “I will absolutely be singing live,” Beyonce said. “This is what I was born to do.”
Speculation is running wild that with the big game scheduled for Feb. 3, Williams and Kelly will be joining Beyonce, on stage to perform some their hits and new song, “Nuclear.” The new Destiny’s Child album, “Love Songs” was released on Jan. 29. Fans are hoping this is a prelude to the Super Bowl reunion.
