On a breezy September night, in the DUMBO section of Brooklyn, young people gathered to lift up the name of Jesus. Destiny Music Group was celebrating the release of their new single "I Belong to You", written by Grace Maddison. The venue was a very intimate spot, the John Ryan Theater, located on Jay St. All seats, benches, and even floor spots were full, leaving only standing room in the building.
The guest artist for the night was Kadeem Nichols, an anointed singer who proclaimed he simply loves God. Kadeem testified of how he tried to blend in with the crowd, but God called him to be unique and serve Him. Kadeem ministered "Give me Your heart", a smoothed out call and response song asking God for a heart exchange. A heart that loves like He loves and cares without respect of person. The song was blended into the worship song "Open the eyes of my heart", which allowed the audience to join in as a voice of one.
After Kadeem ministered, Destiny Music Group took the stage to continue the worship unto God. They opened up with "All I Need" declaring their dependence on God alone. The words were captivating and truly delivered an encouraging message. The scriptures are always a good foundation for a song, as they sang "Bless the Lord oh my soul". The vamp of the song required audience participation as they sang "Bless His holy name". The atmosphere was set for a sound word as hearts were in worship.
The best thing that could happen in someone's life is to have a relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
Bishop Gary Coach Sr. took the mic and commended Destiny Music Group on their faithfulness and use of their gifts to glorify God. He encouraged all those in attendance that the only thing that matters is having a relationship with God through His son Jesus Christ. Bishop Coach spoke with compassion and implored those who may not know Jesus to get to know Him. He ended his time of exhortation leading all in a prayer of repentance and acknowledgement of Jesus as Lord and Savior.
The night was capped off by the new single "I Belong to You" led by Antia Joseph. Antia shared before the song her testimony and how she came to realize Christ died for her. She testified that if it was only just for her Christ would still have died. A powerful testament of God's love for us. Destiny Music Group rocked out to close the night wit the high energy single. The advent of two drummers in the band definitely helped keep the crowd rocking as the praises went forth. The single is available on iTunes and Amazon.com.
