Ministry leaders are compared to eagles and for a while they have to fly alone- especially if they are women. But on Saturday, destiny caused two spirit- led women pastors to conduct a powerful leadership training conference. This appointed meeting, coordinated by Evangelist Pamelia Lawson was held at Alpha Christian Center in Moreno Valley, CA where Dr. Earnestine Poole Anderson is the pastor.
The other eagle, Dr. Vickie Lee who is the founder of Saints of Value Ministry Training Center (S.O.V.) in Norwalk, CA brought her ministry team of pastors and teachers to speak on various aspects of ministry leadership. Dr. Lee’s true calling is an Apostle. She founded S.O.V. more than 15 years ago and has trained hundreds of pastors, evangelists and ministers who have gone on to establish successful ministries, themselves.
Earlier this year, what seemed like a chance meeting between Drs. Lee and Anderson has turned into a blossoming Kingdom partnership. Dr. Anderson shared how destiny brought the two ministries together for such a time as this.
If the anointing and impact of this weekend’s gathering was any indication, there will certainly be more to follow. Several pastors and speakers, including yours truly delivered profound revelations from God regarding leadership in the church and Body of Christ.
Pastor Tony Davis, who is a renowned Gospel vocalist, set the atmosphere by leading us in praise and worship. His vocals on the song “Yes” was so anointed, Dr. Lee asked him to sing it again. We were able to get a double portion of the anointing, which got us ready to receive the Word. Later, Pastor Tony spoke a Word of encouragement to us. In his own words, he loves to speak encouragement to others, which is needed by ministry leaders.
Pastor Lovette Lea blessed us by introducing the speakers and sharing her testimonies. The Dean of S.O.V., Pastor Paul Caprietta delivered a thought-provoking message on the importance of Christians eating properly in order to be healthy and take care of our temple (our body). Dr. Juanita Manley spoke about preparation for serving in leadership. Pastor Darlene Alexander spoke about the importance of praying for pastors and ministers in the Body of Christ and being accountable.
The Lord sent a man-of-God from Texas, Prophet Kenneth Thomas to pray for us and speak a Word of Knowledge into our hearts. He is also an anointed keyboardist, songwriter and singer. The prophet shared beautiful songs that were inspired right on the spot.
God inspired me to demonstrate how a toy puzzle illustrates how there are two sides of leadership and how members of the Body of Christ are interdependent of each other for growth.
Several S.O.V. instructors and alumni, including Min. Debra Russ, Chaplain, Sharlotte Druix-Jones, Min. Lillian Opara, Min. Patricia Wyatt and Mrs. Chris Davis spoke about how the training they received at S.O.V. has helped them build their ministries. Refreshments were prepared and served by a wonderful woman of God (and her daughters) and member Alpha Christian Center.
Dr Lee spoke about how leaders must lead and in order to be a leader you must first be a follower. She also taught on the importance of us pastors having a pastor we are accountable to and for them to speak into our lives as well. Dr. Anderson prayed for Dr. Lee and I was inspired to pray for Dr. Ernestine and her husband Pastor Cranston Anderson.
The presence of God was definitely present and this writer was truly blessed and looking forward to flying with these two eagles.
