Cobbler is one of those delicious desserts that is perfect for any occasion. The only thing that’s better than cobbler is an easy cobbler – one that satisfies the senses and doesn’t take much time to make. This cobbler is arguably one of the easiest dessert recipes ever. It’s so easy that it’s perfect for those who are just beginning to bake or for those who don’t like to bake, but love dessert!

This recipe takes three ingredients: a Jiffy cake mix (or ½ of a large cake mix), a can of pie filling, and some melted butter. You can use any type of canned fruit filling.

A Jiffy cake mix is available at most any grocery. Jiffy mixes were developed in the early 1930s by the grandmother of the current president of the Jiffy Company. She felt it was important that everyone be able to bake biscuits easily, so first introduced a biscuit mix and later introduced a cake mix. The Jiffy Company has been in operation since the early 1800s and now offers 22 different types of convenient mixes.

Easy Fruit Cobbler Recipe

Ingredients for Easy Fruit Cobbler:

  • 1 large can cherry pie filling
  • 1 box Jiffy yellow cake mix (or other 9-ounce cake mix)
  • ½ cup butter, melted

Directions for Easy Fruit Cobbler:

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Butter the bottom and up the sides of a 9x9 baking dish.

Spread the pie filling over the bottom of the prepared dish. Evenly sprinkle the dry cake mix powder over the top of the pie filling. Drizzle with the melted butter. Bake at 350 degrees for ½ hour or until bubbly. Serve warm or at room temperature. Ice cream goes very well with this!
