The beginning of the State Fair signals the inevitable culmination of summer in Minnesota. Visitors from all over the state travel to spend one or more of their last valuable days of vacation experiencing a melange of food and entertainment. A quick check of the Minnesota State Fair food finder illustrates the wide-ranging popularity of food on a stick. Corn dogs, cotton candy, cheese or pickles, fried fruit and pork chops are just a few examples of the vast offerings. Labor Day may signal the end of the fair but the food theme can easily be carried into your own kitchen with this dessert recipe for chocolate raspberry brownie bites on a stick.

Chocolate raspberry brownie bites on a stick


1 - 7 ounce container of Baker's dipping chocolate

10 store bought brownie bites

10 white lollipop sticks - 4 or 6 inch size*

10 fresh raspberries


Melt Baker's chocolate according to package instructions. Place one lollipop stick into the base of each brownie bite. Dip into the melted chocolate, twisting and turning gently to remove excess chocolate. Set on a parchment lined baking sheet. Top with a raspberry before the chocolate sets. Place tray in the refrigerator for 15 minutes or until chocolate is set.

Yield: 10 servings

*Lollipop sticks can be purchased at Michael's craft stores.
