The Oscars air in ABC Sunday February 26, 2012 at 8:00pm. 'The Help', nominated for the Best Picture Oscar 2012, is set in Jackson, Mississippi in the 1960s. The infamous chocolate pie, also known as Minny's shit pie should be the centerpiece of your dessert table.
'The Help' stars Emma Stone, Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer. Viola Davis has been nominated for the Best Actress Oscar 2012, and Octavia Spencer has been nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Oscar 2012.

‘The Help’ follows an aspiring author during the civil rights movement of the 1960s who decides to write a book detailing the African-American maid's point of view on the white families for which they work, and the hardships they go through on a daily basis.
‘The Help’ themed Oscar party 2012 menu:
- Classic Southern fried chicken
- Biscuit topped chicken pot pie
- Braised collard greens with cherry tomatoes
Baked macaroni and cheese - Chocolate pie
- Peach cobbler or peach cobbler cupcakes
Chocolate icebox pie or Minny's shit pie recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 boxes (3.4-ounces each) instant chocolate pudding mix
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 1 cup milk
- 1 8 or 9-inch graham cracker or chocolate cookie crust
- Homemade whipped cream
- Chocolate shavings
Directions for chocolate ice box pie or Minny's shit pie:
- In large metal mixing bowl, whip heavy cream until soft peaks form. Turn off mixer and add both boxes of instant chocolate pudding powder. Add milk. Slowly beat until mixture is smooth.
- Spoon the chocolate pudding pie mixture into prepared graham cracker crust. Smooth top with a spoon or rubber spatula. Top with homemade whipped cream of store bought whipped topping. Sprinkle with chocolate shavings. Cover lightly with foil and refrigerate at least 4 hours. Serve directly from the refrigerator.
