For the second week in a row, "Despicable Me 2" was No. 1 for movies on demand from Dec. 30, 2013 to Jan. 5, 2014, according to Rentrak. "Despicable Me 2" features the return of (former?) super-villain Gru (voiced by Steve Carell), his adorable girls, the unpredictably hilarious Minions...and a host of new and outrageously funny characters. The movie's voice cast also includes Kristen Wiig, Benjamin Bratt, Miranda Cosgrove, Russell Brand, Steve Coogan, Ken Jeong, Elsie Fisher, Dana Gaier and Moises Arias. "Despicable Me 2" got mostly positive reviews and was a major blockbuster.

"Don Jon" rose from No. 6 to No. 2. Jon Martello (played by Joseph Gordon-Levitt) is a strong, handsome, good old fashioned guy. His buddies call him Don Jon due to his ability to "pull" a different woman every weekend, but even the finest fling doesn't compare to the bliss he finds alone in front of the computer watching pornography. Barbara Sugarman (played by Scarlett Johansson) is a bright, beautiful, good old fashioned girl. Raised on romantic Hollywood movies, she's determined to find her Prince Charming and ride off into the sunset. Wrestling with good old fashioned expectations of the opposite sex, Jon and Barbara struggle against a media culture full of false fantasies to try and find true intimacy in this unexpected comedy written and directed by Gordon-Levitt. "Don Jon" got mixed reviews from critics and did mediocre business at the box office.

"Prisoners" dropped from No. 2 to No. 3. How far would you go to protect your family? Keller Dover is facing every parent's worst nightmare. His 6-year-old daughter, Anna, is missing, together with her young friend, Joy, and as minutes turn to hours, panic sets in. The only lead is a dilapidated RV that had earlier been parked on their street. Heading the investigation, Detective Loki arrests its driver, Alex Jones, but a lack of evidence forces his release. As the police pursue multiple leads and pressure mounts, knowing his child's life is at stake the frantic Dover decides he has no choice but to take matters into his own hands. But just how far will this desperate father go to protect his family? Starring Hugh Jackman, Jake Gyllenhaal, Viola Davis, Terrence Howard, Maria Bello and Paul Dano. "Prisoners" was well-received by critics and movie audiences.

"Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters" debuted at No. 4. Percy Jackson (played by Logan Lerman) has had an unnervingly quiet school year. But then he discovers that the magical borders protecting Half Blood Hill are failing. Unless something is done, the camp will be attacked by demons and monsters. The only way to restore power to the camp's borders and to save their home is to find the mythical Golden Fleece. And the only ones who can undertake this dangerous quest are Percy and his friends. Embarking on a treacherous odyssey into the uncharted waters of the Sea of Monsters (known to humans as the Bermuda Triangle), they battle terrifying creatures, an army of zombies, and the ultimate Evil. "Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters" flopped with critics and in movie theaters.

"The Family" dropped from No. 3 to No. 5. In the dark action comedy "The Family," a Mafia boss and his family are relocated to a sleepy town in France under the Witness Protection Program after snitching on the mob. Despite the best efforts of Agent Stansfield (played by Tommy Lee Jones) to keep them in line, Fred Blake (played by Robert De Niro), his wife Maggie (played by Michelle Pfeiffer) and their children, Belle (played by Dianna Agron) and Warren (played by John D’Leo), can’t help resorting to old habits by handling their problems the “family” way. Chaos ensues as their former Mafia cronies try to track them down and scores are settled in the unlikeliest of settings, in this subversively funny film by Luc Besson. "The Family" was disliked by most critics and was a flop at the box office.
