My favorite film festival under the stars is right around the corner, and the fine folks at Short Shorts with Short Leash film festival need film submissions to make their next event an evening full of AZ indie avant garde. The deadline is midnight April 30th 2014. So that means you have just a few more hours to build up the nerve to send in that film. Not the one you made to fulfill the requirements of some film school assignment, the one you made when you were angry, or lonely, or upset about something. The one you made when you discovered something new and wonderful, and had to share it with everybody. The collection of images and sounds that captured your true emotions at that time, assembled and revealed the way only a filmmaker knows how to express themselves.
There are no submission fees and the requirements are very simple: Filmmakers should be from Arizona or based in Arizona and films should be less than 15 minutes. Short Shorts is a great opportunity for filmmakers to display their work that isn’t usually screened at other film festivals. Almost anything goes at Short Shorts, as they seek out narrative films, documentaries, experimental, commercial, music videos and more. Submit your films to firstname.lastname@example.org
The films selected for the 4th Annual Short Shorts with Short Leash film festival will be announced on May 3rd via the Short Shorts with Short Leash facebook page. The festival will take place on Saturday, May 24th at 6pm in the parking lot behind Stinkweeds Records. Parking at the event is extremely limited, so carpooling is recommended. The event is located across the street from the light rail station, so it is also a good idea to park-and-ride. And don’t forget to bring your lawn chairs. And of course Short Leash hot dogs will be there, with several entrée’s for sale from their sumptuous menu. For more information, visit the Theater13 facebook page. Don’t wait another minute; send your film to email@example.com for inclusion in the 4th Annual Short Shorts with Short Leash film festival, the only place for free AZ indie avant garde under the stars.
