Desmond Bryant arrested: Oakland Raiders defensive tackle arrested in Miami

Desmond Bryant was arrested and he now faces a misdemeanor charge of criminal mischief. Bryant got arrested in Miami and on Sunday morning (Feb. 24) was booked at Miami-Dade County jail on $1,000 bail.

The charge against Bryant stems from him allegedly going to a neighbor's house and causing a commotion. He was determined to be inebriated and was arrested as a result. There hasn't been a specific report released by the police yet, though, so it has led to quite a few rumors. One of those rumors was that it was actually Dez Bryant of the Dallas Cowboys who got arrested.

This is unfortunate news for Desmond Bryant, because getting arrested right before he becomes an unrestricted free agent isn't going to help him get a new contract. Bryant played last season for the Oakland Raiders, posting four sacks in eight starts for the team. This was the fourth season that he has been with the Raiders since coming out of Harvard.

More information about this NFL news story is likely to come out on Monday (Feb. 25), with a police report likely to shed more light on the situation. This charge may lead to the Raiders wanting to cut ties with him rather quickly as well.
