Desmond Bishop to take part in second annual NFL Pro Hollywood Boot Camp

There is perhaps nothing further removed from the glitz and glamour of Hollywood than that of Green Bay, Wis.

However, the two cities will coincide as Packers linebacker Desmond Bishop is set to take part in the second annual “NFL Pro Hollywood Boot Camp,” as reported by packers.com on Wednesday.

Slated to run from March 11-15 at Universal Studios in California and directed by NFL Player Engagement and Film Life Inc., the four-day program, featuring 22 current and former NFL players, will cover a multitude of topics centering on the movie industry, including producing, film financing, directing and screen writing, to name a few.

The 28-year-old Bishop, selected by Green Bay in the sixth round of the 2007 draft out of California, will be joined by, among others, Shaun Alexander; Philip Buchanon; Darrius Heyward-Bey; Gerald McCoy; Jared Odrick; Walter Thurmond; and Justin Tyron.

During the program, participants will have the chance to shoot and edit a short film within Universal Studios—the largest working motion picture studio in the world.

For his career, the 6’2”, 241-pound Bishop, who missed the 2012 season upon sustaining a torn right hamstring in the Packers’ preseason opener against San Diego in August, has accumulated nine sacks, one interception, seven forced fumbles and 201 tackles (solo) in 69 games.
