Desk Pets starts BattleTank war at Toy Fair

They may be environmentally friendly, but Desk Pets International’s latest micro-robotic toy offerings are otherwise downright hostile.

The company rolled out its new palm-sized interactive BattleTank toys, which can be fully controlled through both Apple and Adroid apps, last week at Toy Fair. Equipped with a variety of play modes, sounds and maneuvers, BattleTank can act under its own direction, or be navigated over or around obstacles like pens, notebooks, coffee cups and computer keyboards.

BattleTank can also engage in desktop battles with drone tanks and other Desk Pets including CarBot, SkitterBot and TrekBot. Or in multi-player mode, you can go up against an opponent’s BattleTank, with each hit slowing down his/her TankBot until it’s finally destroyed.

BattleTank is powered by a built-in battery and USB flip-down charger to minimize battery costs.

“It’s environmentally friendly,” said Desk Pets International’s managing director David Piltz, adding that the target consumer ages “from eight to 88.”
