Desiree Rogers-will Committee on Homeland Security put her in her place?-Crashgate VII

Desiree Rogers was called by Peter King(R-NY) to attend the Committee on Homeland Security hearing Thursday on the State Dinner crashers hearing. The White House politefully declined the invitation for Social Secretary Desiree Rogers to attend the committee hearing and issued a press release from Press Secretary Robert Gibbs sighting "separation of powers" . Bennie Thompson(D-MI) who is the chairman said he will not call for a subpoena for Desiree Rogers  to appear but I talked to the Committee press secretary late Thursday and he said they are planning on issuing a subpoena to compel Tareq and Michaele Salahi to show up early next week. Bennie Thompson has been asked in an unrelated issue to attend a hearing on his involvement in receiving campaign funds from credit card companies he held hearings on.

That leads us to the current situation. As I said in one of my earlier pieces it would have been better for the White House to allow Rogers to appear before this reached a boiling point. On the NBC Today show this morning Peter King(R) and now even Loretta Sanchez(D-CA) want Desiree Rogers to appear before the committee. Sanchez said "even Wal-Mart has greeters, why not the White House?" 

As the buzz on this story continues because some feel that Desiree Rogers is hiding behind the President, Desiree Rogers may become a political liability and the President will be forced to make a decision on the matter. The Public heard the Secret Service directors testimony and now it seems they would like to hear Desiree Rogers take on the matter.
