Desiree Hartsock says Juan Pablo Galavis and Nikki Ferrell should not be judged

Like many other people, Desiree Hartsock found the finale episode of "The Bachelor" and the "After the Final Rose" episode hard to watch. In a blog entry posted on her personal website on Wednesday, March 12, Desiree gave her reaction to the ending and Juan Pablo Galavis's relationship with Nikki Ferrell.

First she wrote that Juan Pablo may not have been the best person for the job. She wrote that she understands if Juan Pablo has a different way of expressing things or wants to keep things private but the Bachelor is supposed to be open and allow viewers into his journey on finding love.

"He is not a bad person at all but maybe wasn’t the best fit for a position that consisted of sharing feelings," she concluded.

She also pointed out the obvious "animosity" between Juan Pablo and the show and that there is no reason for a Bachelor to be "ungrateful or disrespectful."

Lastly, she gave her opinion on Juan Pablo and Nikki.

"Everyone will have their opinion, but in the end if Juan Pablo and Nikki are happy in their relationship and can look past the negativity that will surround them for a little while then that is ALL that matters. No one is to judge or make them feel bad for ‘loving’ or ‘really liking’ each other. Relationships are meant as a way to learn and grow with each other so I hope everyone who reads this can refrain from blasting negative remarks to Nikki & Juan Pablo and allow them the time to grow naturally," she wrote.

Desiree and her fiance Chris Siegfried of course knows Juan Pablo as he competed for Des's hand on her season of "The Bachelorette." They also know first-hand what it's like to be under intense scrutiny and face negative criticism of their relationship, as many viewers of her season believed that she was truly in love with Brooks Forester and settled for second best with Chris after getting dumped by Brooks.

Perhaps, against all odds, Juan Pablo and Nikki will one day get engaged and plan their wedding like Des and Chris?
