"Bachelor" Sean Lowe dumped Desiree Hartsock, but now she will be handing out the roses as the next "Bachelorette." The premiere episode of Season 9 will air on May 20, 2013.
Hollywood Life reports that ABC will make the announcement official on the live "After the Final Rose" special that airs after Sean makes his final pick on March 11, 2013.
Is Sean happy that Desiree is going to be the next "Bachelorette"?
He can't say anything about her being selected because ABC hasn't officially announced it, but he did tell PEOPLE on March 5 that he hopes she gets another chance at love.
"Although it didn’t work out with us, she’ll always have a place in my heart because she is such a lovable person. I know Des has moved on, and I’m hoping she gets a second chance at love – maybe on the next season of 'The Bachelorette'? She would definitely get my vote."
There was speculation that the new "Bachelorette" would be Lindsay Yenter or AshLee Frazier, but it looks like ABC went with the fan favorite, Desiree Hartsock.
Desiree's brother was a nutbag and insulted Sean Lowe on his sister's hometown date, but her sweet personality won over the fans during this season of the "Bachelor." Crazy brother or not, Desiree is a safe pick for the franchise.
Reality Steve writes that Desiree Hartsock will begin filming on March 17, so it's likely we will see plenty of corny promo photos of her holding a bunch of roses around that date.
Whether she will start her journey to possibly find love at the mansion or somewhere else is still unknown.
