Desiree Hartsock new Cinderella in 'The Bachelorette'

The newest star of "The Bachelorette" is Desiree Hartsock, who was eliminated by Sean Lowe on "The Bachelor" after the hometown dates. Hartsock was announced as the newest Bachelorette during the "After the Final Rose" special on March 11, 2013. Desiree will debut on the ninth edition of "The Bachelorette" on Monday, May 20, 2013 (9-11 p.m. ET) on the ABC Television Network, according to a March 12 press release from ABC.

Desiree Hartsock is the newest "Cinderella" looking for her "Prince Charming" as the featured bachelorette in the ninth edition of the reality romance show.

Sean Lowe proposed to Catherine Guidici in the episode that aired on March 11, 2013. The couple announced that they their wedding would be televised. In the meantime, Sean will compete in the reality show "Dancing with the Stars." Sean Lowe joins cast of Dancing with the Stars.

Desiree seemed to be front runner for Sean's heart until the unfortunate hometown date, when Sean was confronted by her brother and called the bachelor a playboy. Host Chris Harrison said that it did not seem to be time for Desiree to leave the show, in a February interview with columnists. Women dish on Sean Lowe in Bachelor special

Harrison stated, "No what - honestly what I felt with Des was just that it reminded me of one other breakup over the last like 11 years where I felt like, I'm not saying it was wrong but it just felt like wow it wasn't time yet. Like there was still just something there. And there was definitely that chemistry between him and Des that just seemed like "Wow, this shouldn't be happening right now."

Harrison continued, "And you know when you saw them together at you know the "Women Tell All" on Monday and again, I guess I'll just let the viewer's judge but you could still kind of just see that chemistry and that little something between them. It's just interesting. I've only seen that one other time in the history of the show. ...And you know did he make a mistake, obviously not, it's what he decided to do and who am I to even say that but it was just something I definitely noticed that was kind of palpable between the two of them."

Chris Harrison also talked about whether Desiree would be a good candidate for "The Bachelorette, stating, "Yes, Des, is you know - well Des is kind of that young not that Katie Holmes is old but she's just is this young attractive Katie Holmes looking girl next door. It's kind of what the show was built on with you know finding that diamond in the rough kind of like Sean is it's that every day guy obviously a great guy and giving him that chance. And again Des, the way you know she comes off on the "Women Tell All" makes herself a great candidate."

Desiree, 26, is a bridal stylist in Los Angeles, Calif.. She attended Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FITM) in Los Angeles and has aspiration of designing bridal gowns for her own boutique. Her ultimate dream is to find the kind of love shared by her parents, who have been together for 40 years and married for 35 years.

This spunky, athletic and artistic woman is eagerly looking for a life filled with spontaneity, love and laughter. She hopes someday to travel the world with that special someone whom she'll run home to see every day. And she is positive, after falling in love on "The Bachelor," that she can find her soul mate on "The Bachelorette."
