This season as Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week premieres fall and winter fashions, there is a fresh set of designers added to the schedule, eager to share their own works of art.

We are extremely anxious to see The Art Institutes Fall 2014 Show featuring a most diverse set of designers specially chosen by experts in the fashion industry. Highly recognized designers such as John Bartlett, Douglas Hannant, Bonnie Young, Cliodna Egan and Christina Neault, were brought together to choose the designers of the future, bright stars of tomorrow and those that will shape the foundation of our fashion future.

The Art Institutes Fall 2014 fashion show is one of only 2 shows during Fashion Week that will include alumni designers. The Art Institutes system of schools accepted applicants from the ten largest fashion design programs across its North American system of more than 50 schools. Thirteen student and alumni designers were selected to present their Fall 2014 capsule collections during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2014. The show will take place in the Theatre in Lincoln Center on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at 8:00 p.m..

These are not your traditional designers. They are individuals who have followed their dreams and have ignited their passion for design. It is an opportunity that comes around only once in a lifetime. The runway of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, and the glory that each of these new designers will gain in front of an international audience, is an achievement that not many designers can brag about. These self-confident and ambitious designers will be able to market themselves to prospective clients and buyers alike and seize the moment. They have come from a variety of walks of life and include a former Marine, an architect and a carpenter.

“A talented group of fashion industry professionals generously provided their expertise to select the thirteen designers who will be a part of The Art Institutes Fall 2014 show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week,” said Charles Restivo, Interim President of The Art Institutes. “We are excited to present a show that highlights the exceptional talent and creativity The Art Institutes students and alumni offer.”

This set of creative designers came from five recognized universities; Miami International University of Art & Design, The Art Institute of New York City, The Art Institute of Philadelphia, The Art Institute of Portland and The Art Institute of California-San Francisco. They are now preparing for a show that they hope will impress their guests and take them on the path of design stardom. Their names are Gustavo Alonso, Luis Aponte, Joshuan Aponte, Lauren Barisic, Lorena Cabrera, Anna Charest, Samuel Ciccone, Michael Doyle, Ryan Edmonds, German Madrigal, Christopher Maracha, Rei Yamamoto and Simone Young. Each of these students has amazing credits to their name and to the fashion industry.

Watch the show live on Tuesday at It will take place at 8:00 p.m. EST direct from the Theatre at Lincoln Center during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2014 in New York City.

Congratulations go out to these 13 promising designers who we are sure to see in many fashion weeks still to come.
