Designer Temperley unveils collection inspired by Tippi Hedren in 'The Birds' (Photos)

The recent Hitchcock revival continues with a new fashion line inspired by Tippi Hedren's stylish look in The Birds.

British designer Alice Temperley says her latest collection was made with Hitchcock's sophisticated heroine in mind. After unveiling her new womenswear collection at a London fashion show, Temperley said that she was obsessed with the romance and glamour of old movies. "It's from a bygone era, but we all secretly want to look like that."

Hitchcock was known for casting cool, elegant blondes and they were always dressed as if they'd walked out of the pages of Vogue magazine. Grace Kelly's beautiful cocktail dress in Rear Window is the height of '50s sophistication, as is the iconic gray suit worn by Kim Novak in Vertigo, both designed by legendary costumer Edith Head, who also designed Hedren's clothing in The Birds.

In 2008, designer Michael Kors, cited The Birds as his style inspiration for a collection that also drew comparisons to TV's Mad Men.

Hedren was recently portrayed in the HBO movie The Girl, about the making of The Birds, in which Sienna Miller played the actress. Anthony Hopkins starred as the famous director in the film Hitchcock, about the making of Psycho, in which Scarlett Johansson played Janet Leigh, Jessica Biel was Vera Miles and Helen Mirren played Hitchcock's equally stylish wife Alma.
