For Fall 2014, designer Jay Godfrey has his mind on the spirit of 70′s rock and roll!! Within his collection, fashion industry onlookers can expect to see edgy prints and rich textures on body conscious silhouettes. Modernized rock staples of standout shifts, flirty miniskirts, bold and unexpected bomber jackets, and sleek jumpsuits will move with the ease of stretch jacquard, ultra suede and bouclé. Black in all its magnificence will anchor the palette, while highlighting a velvety burgundy wine, subtle olive and deep indigo. Vibrant fringe, stud and zipper detailing along with shots of metallic sequin are foundations to the collection, drawing out a classic rock ‘n’ roller aesthetic that is reminiscent yet undeniably modern.
Next week, marks the designer’s very first presentation during Fashion Week! However, the impressive inspiration for the show is in line with Jay Godfrey’s distinctive contemporary collection of dresses and separates that accentuates the female figure. He describes himself as a minimalist who embraces color in an unmistakably sensual way.
