Sunglasses are a hot, and never out of style fashion accessory. However, with the many varieties that are massed produced, finding a design that’s unique and suitable to your facial features and coloring is not as easy as it seems.

C J Blanx is an exciting and innovative sunglasses brand that allows the customer to design and create their very own stylish pair of eyewear. Corey Connolly, founder of C J Blanx, said the idea for the eyewear brand originated because Connolly was attracted to the concept of allowing the consumer to select what they want, similar to that of mainstream sneaker names.

Some brands like Nike and Converse were enabling their customers to customize their shoes. So I thought it was time to let consumers of sunglasses tell the manufacture what they want to wear, not what the manufacturer wants them to buy.

Corey then looked to his roots from Down Under and towards the sunny seaside to further brainstorm his customizable sunglasses idea.

Growing up on the Sunshine Coast, Australia notorious for its sunshine, I always loved sunglasses as a fashion accessory. I think they can really change the look of someone and compliment their mood and outfit. But I was sick of seeing the style and brand of ‘sunnies’ I was wearing on every other person.

The founder of C J Blanx turned his innovative idea into 12 signature styles with eight acetate frames that are semi-vintage inspired. Two half rim metal frames and two aviator style frames are made out of nickel with over 160,000 variations. There are between five and seven arm shapes to go with each frame, 40 colors to choose from and seven different lens shades. Customers of the personalized fashion accessory also have the option to polarize and have your name written on the inside of the temples (arms).

Ed Lower, last year’s “Big Brother” contestant, is an ambassador for CJ Blanx and is intrigued by the concept behind the eyewear brand.

I love C J Blanx. It's cool, young and enables you to choose your own ‘sunnies’ based on your fashion sense. The business model and concept is very clever. Easily accessible, so many choices tailored to your own needs and delivered right to your door.

Made from acetate frames and CR-39 lenses, which are some of the strongest materials available, the C J Blanx sunglasses are durable for those who aren’t light of hand.

A C J Blanx pair of sunglasses can take around four to six weeks to manufacture because each pair is individually handmade and not put in to a mass production line. The customizable eyewear retails between $328 and $365 with $5 from every sale donated to the charity of the customer’s choice.

Create the way you look this coming spring with a customizable pair of sunglasses from C J Blanx, the ultimate fashion accessory.
