Experts have embraced the concept of “everything old is new again.” In obvious terms, this would be the sensible trend for 2011 based on the economic state of the country and in the design world of trying to do more with less. Now a new excitement has been born out of this phrase, and a rebirth of an old term has brought us something completely new and exciting. In year 2011 “trend” is defined with total abandonment of any solid structure and rules. "The unfinished is now the finished", and we embrace imperfections in furnishing and finishes from nature, that become an individual design element of a room. "Going Green", is assumed and building a product that reflects the respect for nature is no longer just a trend. We have abandoned the ideas of perfection that we have gotten so used to in the past. "French Heritage" continues it's success with it's "Paris Loft Collection",a collaboration between French artisan Hughues Revuelta and Jacques Wayser. The entire line is constructed from reclaimed teak wood salvaged from barn posts, antique flooring and old buildings on the island of java. Eclectic and sophisticated , the line has introduced a new primitive flavor with patterned textiles in an autumnal-hued color palette.
Refurbish, Refinish, Remodel, keeping favorites that were placed in a room long ago but now adding a new trendy color wash or upholstery. When once we would easily discard and embrace a new introduction to a space, we now test our creativity, purchase a few more design magazines, and look for options to bring a new breath of life to an old favorite piece that may have a fond memory.
