DeSean Jackson doesn't have an NFL team to call home anymore. In a shocking move, the Philadelphia Eagles have released the wide receiver. It wasn't due to his salary or his actions on the football field. On March 28, ESPN reported that Desean Jackson was let go from the team because of new information that came to light about his off the field activities. A statement by the team said as follows:

After careful consideration over this offseason, the Philadelphia Eagles have decided to part ways with DeSean Jackson. The team informed him of his release today.

The Philadelphia Eagles could have traded the player to another team, but they did not not want to give another team the player without them knowing about the situation. Jackson was about to start the third season of a five year contract.

How did Jackson react to the news? The football player shared a video of himself on his Instagram on Friday morning. He was running laps at UCLA.

It might be difficult for the football player to find a new home with the reason for his release, but NFL.com did share some possible homes for him. He could have a shot for a pick up from either the Oakland Raiders or the New York Jets. The San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs are also mentioned as possibilities.

What do you think? Are you surprised by this release?
