Jules Verne is a name that rings out for adventure and science fiction to the young and old alike. With novels such as 'Journey To The Center Of The Earth' and 'Twenty Thousand Leagues Under The Sea', we as divers can't help but become intrigued by this French novelist, poet and playwright.
Now the Florida Keys has the honor to relive the magic that Jules Verne created. 'The Jules Verne Birthday Social' will take place on Saturday, February 8, 2014, at the History of Diving Museum, located in Islamorada at Mile Marker 83. Join in the party from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Tickets are now on sale for $20 each.
The 'Father of Science Fiction' turns 184 years old and there has never been a birthday party like this one. What better way to celebrate than joining in and using your imagination to dress up in the costumes of Jules Verne's era. Rise to the occasion in costume. Prizes will be awarded for the best costume.
Travel back in time and explore Captain Nemo's submarine, The Nautilus, right there in the History of Diving Museum. It is a true tribute to 'Twenty Thousand Leagues Under The Sea.'
