The Des Moines Metro Arts Alliance kicked off their 32nd season of Jazz in July on Thursday night, July 3 with a performance by the Parranderos Latin Combo at the State Capitol before the Des Moines Symphony's Yankee Doodle Pops concert. The month-long outdoor concert series will now run through July 26 with performances all over the Metro. The concerts are free and open to the public, and have become the longest running concerts series in Des Moines. The concerts will feature a mix of local and national acts with Iowa ties, and they will feature kid's activities, food vendors, and visual artists as well.

Saturday, July 19: Freestyle at the 6th Avenue Corridor (6th & College) in Des Moines
Sunday, July 20: Betsy Hickok Quartet at the Johnston Public Library in Johnston
Wednesday, July 23: John Morgan Orchestra (featuring Gina Gedler) at Wesley Acres in Des Moines
Thursday, July 24: Max Wellman at American Enterprise (sculpture garden) in Des Moines
Friday, July 25: High Society Big Band at Copper Creek Lake Park in Pleasant Hill
Saturday, July 26: Paige Harpin & Gruve at the West Glen Town Center (5465 Mills Civic Parkway) in West Des Moines

The July 19 Jazz in July Event has been expanded to include multiple live musical acts, food, kid's activities, community booths, dancers, and more. The event will now run from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. Here is the updated live music schedule:
