Garden joys continue in full swing during the holiday season as area arboretums offer opportunities to breathe the fresh air and natural beauty of winter wonderlands.
This Saturday, Dec. 10 from 10 a.m. to noon, the Brenton Arboretum offers a Conifer Walk, horticulturist Lee Goldsmith guides visitors through the snowy landscape and learns about theunique characteristics of evergreens. The arboretum is located 2 miles south of Dallas Center.
The Iowa Arboretum near Madrid offers weekend festivities through Friday, December 23, 2011. The Arboretum offers home grown Iowa Christmas trees creatively decorated for the holidays as well as holiday gifts for all ages at the arboretum gift shop.
