Derrick Rose rumors indicate only good news for fantasy basketball owners. Rose returned to the Chicago Bulls on Saturday (Oct. 5), playing in the team's first preseason game of the season. In the game against the Indiana Pacers, Rose played just over 20 minutes, going 5-for-12 from the field and finishing with 13 points.
Rose didn't exactly fill up the stat sheet, finishing with three assists, two rebounds, and two steals, but it was a step in the right direction for the former NBA MVP. He didn't appear tentative and it looked like he is just about ready to get back into full game action. The team is going to take it easy with him for the first few preseason games, but this performance has to increase his value quite a bit when it comes to the world of fantasy basketball.
For leagues that haven't drafted yet, it is clear that Rose is going to be one of the top point guards on the board now. During the 2011-12 NBA season, he averaged 21.8 points, 7.9 assists and 3.4 rebounds per game. That's in addition to nearly a block and a steal per night as well as 1.4 three-pointers per game. Those numbers could become extremely valuable, especially if he tries to come out of the gate really strong this year.
Any Derrick Rose rumors about the Chicago Bulls starting point guard not being ready to go can officially be put to bed.
