With the World Junior Hockey Championship coming up starting on December 26th in Sweden, rosters are starting to form. The Pittsburgh Penguins will be represented on Canada’s squad by defenseman Derrick Pouliot.

Derrick Pouliot was named to Canada’s twenty-five man selection camp roster on Monday afternoon. The nineteen year old defenseman will be making his Under-20 World Junior Hockey Championship debut after being one of the final cuts from last year’s team. This season with the Portland Winterhawks of the Western Hockey League (WHL) Pouliot has registered twenty-six points (8G, 18A) in twenty-five games. Pouliot was the Penguins’ first round (8th overall) selection in the 2012 NHL draft, a pick they received as part of the Jordan Staal trade.

Hockey Canada has until December 25th to get their roster down to twenty-two players. The complete selection camp roster for Canada can be found here.
