The latest news on the designer collaboration front involved the union of mass retailer Kohl's and high fashion designer, Derek Lam. The collection is part of the DesigNation project for Kohl's, where the retailer asks the partnered designer to create a destination inspired line. Derek Lam's inspiration was Brazil, and while there aren't many skimpy bikinis, there are some fun prints and interesting pieces that are worth of a mix/match.
I can't decide whether the latest design collab trend is all too much, but the collection had me underwhelmed. And while the concept behind the DesigNation is great, and some of the pieces from Lam's collection are wearable and versatile, I was left wanting more.
